A dog in The Wizard of Oz pulls back a curtain and reveals a little man pretending to be a powerful wizard. Stephen Davey uses that scene to introduce a section of Jesus' sermon that pulls back the curtain on us. He walks through several short, pointed sayings Jesus gives about genuine generosity, being careful who we follow, and the danger of judging others while ignoring our own faults. Davey spends real time on Jesus' picture of a man with a plank in his own eye trying to pick a speck out of someone else's, showing how easily we excuse our own sin while noticing it instantly in others. He closes with the idea that what fills our heart always shows up in our words and actions, so real change has to start on the inside.
